ISTANBUL, Feb 21 (Reuters) – Turkey’s data protection authority said late on Friday that it has launched a review into six major social media platforms to assess how they handle children’s personal data.

In a statement, the Personal Data Protection Authority said the move aims to protect children from potential risks in digital environments and will examine data-processing practices and safety measures on social media platforms TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X and Discord.
