BEIJING, March 9 (Reuters) – Dutch chipmaker Nexperia’s Chinese subsidiary on Monday said it has successfully achieved small-batch production of 12-inch wafer bipolar discrete devices, even as disputes between the Chinese unit and the Dutch headquarters drag on.
The “breakthrough” marked a new milestone in Nexperia China’s “independent R&D and mass production capabilities”, the company said in a statement released on its Chinese social media account.
Netherlands-based Nexperia, owned by China’s Wingtech Technology (600745.SS), has been embroiled in geopolitical tensions following Dutch state intervention in October 2025 that imposed a European management team.
(This story has been corrected to fix the date of Dutch state intervention to October 2025, from 2022, in paragraph 3)
